Albert

How Albert uses Claude.

Claude is optional. If you have it, Albert runs Claude Code for you. This page says what that means, in plain words.

What Albert does

Signing in to Claude Code

If Claude Code is installed and signed in on your computer, Albert uses it — nothing else to do.

  1. In Albert, open Settings → AI engines. Not installed? Press Install Claude Code.
  2. Signed out? Press Sign in with Claude. Claude Code's own sign-in opens in a small terminal right inside Albert.
  3. Click the link it shows, and approve on Anthropic's page.
  4. Paste the code back into that terminal, into Claude. It says “Done”, and the Claude row turns green.

The words above the terminal say it plainly: “This is Claude Code's own sign-in. Open the link, approve, and paste the code here, into Claude. Albert never sees or keeps it.” Albert only shows the terminal. It does not record, save or read what goes through it.

On the cloud computer

Your cloud computer is a separate machine, so Claude needs signing in there once. In Settings → Cloud & connection → Setup, press Sign Claude in on the cloud. The same small terminal opens, and the steps are the same. Each person signs in with their own Claude; teammates who don't, use Albert's models there.
