// Refunds & cancellation
Cancel any time. Fair refunds.
How cancelling works, when you get money back, and how long a refund takes. In short: cancel whenever you like, keep what you paid for until the month ends, and get a full refund if you change your mind within 7 days of your first payment.
Effective 19 October 2026.
In short
- Cancel any time. There are no further charges after you cancel.
- You keep what you paid for until the end of the month already paid, then your account moves to the Free plan. Your work stays yours and can be exported.
- 7-day cooling-off: cancel within 7 days of the first payment of a new subscription and we refund that payment in full.
- After 7 days we do not refund part-months, unless we charged you in error or the service failed (see below).
- Top-ups: the unused part can be refunded if you ask within 7 days of buying it. Usage already used cannot be refunded. Cancelling your plan pauses your top-up; it is not lost.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Paystack, usually within 3 to 10 working days.
How to cancel
Cancelling is as easy as signing up, and you never need to give a reason.
- On your account page: sign in at albertai.tech, go to Your plan and press Cancel plan. Before you confirm, it shows the date your plan runs until and any top-up that will pause.
- From Paystack's email: use the Manage subscription button in the email Paystack sent when you subscribed, or in the reminder Paystack sends before each charge, then choose Cancel.
- By email: write to [email protected] from the address on your account and we will cancel it for you.
- Cancelling stops future charges straight away. Your plan keeps working until the end of the month you already paid for. If you cancel during a cloud computer's free week, you are not charged at all.
The 7-day cooling-off period
- If you cancel a new subscription (Starter, Individual, Team, or a cloud computer) within 7 days of its first payment, we refund that first payment in full. This follows section 44 of South Africa's Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
- For a cloud computer that started with a free week, the 7 days run from the first payment after the free week.
- The cooling-off period applies to the first payment of a subscription, not to each monthly renewal.
After the first 7 days
- Monthly payments are not refunded for the part of a month you do not use. You keep access until the end of the paid month.
- Team subscriptions: adding a member is charged for the rest of the current month. Removing a member lowers the price from your next billing date; the current month is not refunded.
- Charged in error (a double charge, a charge after you cancelled, or the wrong amount): we refund the full incorrect amount.
- The service failed: if a paid feature did not work for a long stretch because of a fault on our side, tell us and we will refund or credit a fair share of that month.
Top-ups
- A top-up is extra AI usage for the models Albert uses on your behalf, for subscribers.
- It carries over. Your plan's usage resets each month; a top-up does not. What is left moves into the next month, and your plan's usage is always used first.
- If you cancel your plan, your top-up is paused, not lost. It comes back the day you subscribe again, on any paid plan.
- Paid top-up lasts 3 years from the day you buy it. The 10% subscriber bonus is free and lasts 3 months; it is used before the paid part.
- You can ask for the unused part to be refunded within 7 days of buying it.
- Usage that has already been used cannot be refunded, because it has already been paid on to the AI providers.
- Engine time included in a plan has no cash value and is not refunded.
How refunds are paid
- Refunds are made through Paystack, back to the card or account you paid with. We cannot refund to a different card, account or person.
- Once we approve a refund, it usually reaches you within 3 to 10 working days, depending on your bank.
- Refunds are made in South African rand, for the amount you were charged. Any fees or exchange differences charged by your own bank are outside our control.
- To ask for a refund, email [email protected] with the email address on your account and the date of the payment. We aim to reply within 2 working days.
Before you dispute a charge
Please write to us first at [email protected]. We can usually fix a billing problem the same day, which is faster than a card dispute for both of us. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and other South African law are not affected by this policy.
